A Waking Farm (Saturday 10 March 2018)

Learn to capture the activities of a waking dairy farm in the beauty of the morning light.

Irene Farm is a fully operational dairy farm and this early morning photowalk includes cows being fed, tractors working, cocks crowing, swans waking and light falling through old magnificent trees.

Irene Farm, founded in 1889, has become an iconic countryside landmark in Centurion. It is an old style farm stead and the ideal location to practice landscape photography, slow shutter speed photography on the weir, low light photography in the abandoned sheds and still life photography on the old farm tools.

The Irene Farm Stall offers fresh goods from its famous dairy shop. A visit to The Barn Restaurant, situated under 100 year old oak trees, offers a magnificent view while having a bite to eat. Gumboots are recommended.
