Architecture at the Mosque (Saturday 2 November 2019)

A unique venue offering interior and exterior architectural as well as low-light photography.

Eastern architecture is superbly portrayed at this beautiful Mosque which is a magnificent venue to learn how to capture interior and exterior architectural as well as low-light photography.

Nizamiye Turkish Masjid Mosque took three years to build and the main dome is covered with 48 tons of lead. Inside the mosque are authentic Turkish ceramics on the walls and amazing calligraphy on the ceiling. There are 232 stained glass windows that throw coloured light through the dome which is patterned with Turkish art and the custom-made carpet below.

Panoramic views of the surrounding countryside can be seen from here and its a superb location to photograph a highveld sunset. The opportunity for rare, diverse and exciting photography is inspiring and endless as this workshop takes place over an evening and into the night light.
