9 August:

If you are making use of the shared transport option – we will collect you from you home / BnB in Hermanus around 10h00 and head to Arniston. Those self-driving can meet us in Arniston at 11h30. Here we will check-in to our accommodation which is an old stone Fisherman’s cottage in Kassiesbaai. Lunch at a local Kassiesbaai restaurant followed by a workshop and camera set up between 14h00 and 16h00. Time on your own and then meet up to photograph the sunset on the beach and then head back to the cottage where the local fishermen and their wives will be making us an authentic fish braai with their catch of the day.  (Meat or vegetarian options available to those who would prefer).

10 August:

Sunrise is closely followed by low tide so we will head into the Waenhuiskrans Cave to capture the sun rising over the Ocean with the edge of the cave as the foreground. This is a special treat. We will then head to the harbour and capture the morning activities and photograph the beautiful and bright fishing boats.

09h00 – Breakfast of yogurt, muesli, fruit back at the cottage or you are welcome to have a full breakfast at the Arniston Hotel. Check out at 10h00 and head on the backroads via Elim over De Pont and down to Witsand – photographing along the way. Light lunch in Witsand and a meander through the backroads and beautiful valleys to Barrydale where we will check-in, enjoy the evening and dinner followed by night photography and painting with light on a farm.

11 August:

A relaxing morning after a long day and late night – breakfast at your leisure. Check-out at 10h00 and head out to Grootvadresbosch for a workshop in the forest, through Swellemdam, into Suurbrak for some Architecture and portrait photography and onto Greyton where we will check-in. There we will go up to the dam for evening photography and into town for dinner.

12 August:

Early morning walk around Greyton photographing the backroads, homes and gardens in the soft side light. Breakfast and check out at 10h00 and then Meander down The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley stopping at a wine farm or two to photograph (and do the obvious if you would like to!) Head to New Harbour for some photography, a light pub lunch with a beautiful view – and then for a Whale Watching Boat trip and photographing the Southern Right Whales at 15h00 (weather permitting) or a walk on the Cliff Paths photographing the Whales if the boats cannot go out. If the seas are too rough for an afternoon trip and you are overnighting in Hermanus – we can change the trip to a 09h00 on the morning of 13 August when the seas are generally calmer. Please let us know which you would prefer.

The tour officially ends after the trip around 17h30 – but will end at 15h00 if the boat is unable to go out due to bad sea / weather conditions.
