Explore the Asian Food markets in China Town




On this Educational Photowalk you will learn about various ingredients and how to use them, identify them, discuss simple recipes, learn about medicinal properties in Asian food and how to photograph them.

We will visit and photograph  a Chinese tea shop, Asian fresh vegetable markets, a shop that specializes in Japanese foods, a traditional Szechuanese restaurant, a Thai Supermarket and an Indonesian Store.


Date and time:

Sunday 29 October 2017. 09h00 to 12h00.

Meeting Place:

Meeting at China Gate at 9am on the corner Friedland Ave and Derrick Ave, Cyrildene, Johannesburg

A maximum of 20 people – so early booking is advisable. If this workshop is full, we will indicate here.

Non-photographers are welcome.

What to Bring:

Other than your camera – cash for shopping and parking.  Comfortable, closed walking shoes and weather related clothing. Please bring one camera

In the event that there is an increment in weather which forces the workshop to cancel, will reschedule.

In the event that you have to cancel for any reason what-so-ever, will hold a credit for you for up to 3 months.

In the event that has to cancel for any other reason, you will be refunded in full.
