Photographic Tour of India


A wonderful mix of Culture, Colour, Beauty and Photography in India.


We’ll explore New Dheli – the capital of Modern India, Udaipur  – the romantic lake city surrounded by magnificent white palaces, Jodhpur – the Blue City, The Thar Desert, Ranakhpur – an Ancient Jain Temple complex and the remote Tribal villages in the Rajasthan Desert – all while improving your photographic skills.

There are a minimum of 8 people maximum of 12 people. 

Non photographers are welcome at the same price as photographers.

Peter Hassall (National President of SA Pro-Photographers with 35 years experience) and Leanne Dryburgh (Western Cape Manager of SA Pro-Photographers with 27 years experience) from will be teaching photography for this duration of this photo-tour. The types of photography you will be learning about include: food, architecture, portraits, landscapes,macro, time-lapse, night skies, close up, fashion, street, people, transport, fashion and so much more. This is a ‘Colourful and interesting Feast of Photography!’

Our  Indian Guide:

Ishvara Dhyan is South African yet has travelled to India over 20 times and is fluent in Hindi. He is deeply knowledgeable and the area, food, fabrics, history, buildings and the culture. His business, Ancient Secrets, has been running for many years and he specializes in Cultural Tours through the Inner City of Johannesburg. and Ancient Secrets teamed up in 2017 and offer a wonderful combination of photography and culture.

All package include:

Two Accredited SA Pro-Photographers to teach you and Ishvara’s Tour Guiding, two domestic flights, all main transfers throughout the tour and entrance fees.

All packages exclude:

Flights to and from India (see ‘Meeting Point’ below) and Visas.

Accommodation (the photographers have booked into 5-star accommodation based on Ishavra’s previous travels to India and experiences. Once we have received your booking for the tour – we will let you know where we are staying and then you can either book in the same place as us – or in smarter or cheaper accommodation near to where we are staying.)

All meals. Camera gear and accessories, travel insurance, gratuities and medical insurance.

Meeting Point:

If traveling from South Africa, there will most likely be people traveling from OR Tambo and CT International Airports. It is recommended that you take the same flights as it makes for easy transfers at the airports. Should you prefer to travel on your own and meet in India,  we will provide you with the meeting time and place. Please email with your preference and we will send the finer details through to you.

Ending Point:

The same applies to the meeting point – just in reverse.



A detailed Itinerary will be sent through to all confirmed bookings.

Non-Photographers and minimum age:

Non-Photographers are welcome on the tour. The same prices apply.

The minimum age required of 18 is required.

Payment Terms:

A deposit of $750.00 per person is required to secure your place/s. This will be held in a trust account and refunded to you should the minimum number of people not be reached by the closing date for the tour – 30 April 2018. However, when the minimum number is reached we will confirm the trip and your deposit will count as a part payment.

50% of the balance will then be payable by no later than 30 April and the balance is payable in full by no later than 31 July 2018.

Discounts offered on groups of 6 or more.

What to Bring for Photography:

In order to achieve the most from the Accredited South African Professional Photographer, a camera body with a manual mode function is recommended. However, all makes of cameras are welcome. A tripod is essential. Head torches for the evenings.

‘Sensible’ clothing to bring:

Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended. 


Persons over the age of 18 are welcome to join as non-photographers at the same rate as photographers.

Photographic Skills:

None! Photographers of all skills level are welcome. Come Join Us!


A certain level of fitness is required to enable you to transport your own camera bag, tripod and accessories. Reasonably short to medium distances are covered while photowalking. If during ‘free time’ you would like to partake in other adventures, additional fitness may be required.

Should you suffer from any chronic medical conditions, we recommend that you get a full medical clearance before committing to this Tour.

Visas and Passports:

All visitors must have a passport that is valid for at least six months.

Please check if you require a Visa.

(Free for South African citizens. Visas take 3 working days to process in Johannesburg. No vaccinations necessary.)

Duty Free Allowance:

  1. Alcoholic liquors or wines up to 2 litres.
  2. 200 Cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams tobacco.

Cancellations and refunds:

Deposits are refunded only if cancellation is received in writing by 28 February 2108, less any costs incurred.

A 20% refund of the monies paid will be issued between 28 February 2018 and 30 April 2018, less any costs incurred.

No refunds made for any cancellation after 1 May 2018.


Although every possible care is taken to safeguard you and your property, no company involved in this Tour accepts responsibility for any accident, injury, illness or death incurred during or arising from any tour, or loss or damage to clients property during a tour. We strongly advise you take out insurance for yourself and your property before the start of the tour.

No company involved will be held responsible for any expenses or loss of Safari days resulting from changes in flight schedules, delays or loss of baggage by international air carriers or local air charter companies.


By booking this Photo-Tour you agree to be bound by indemnity terms and conditions., it’s staff, employee, suppliers and partners will not be held responsible for loss, injury, death or damage including consequential loss of any nature what-so-ever. By booking this tour you understand and accept this. will do their best to avoid any circumstances that may lead to the above.
