Jeppestown (Saturday 10 March 2018)

Jeppestown is Johannesburg’s oldest residential suburb(1889). On this Educational Photowalk we will visit many places of historical & cultural interest and have models there to photograph.

On this workshop you will be visiting the mosaics at Maboneng Precinct by artist Hannelie Coetzee, the Jooste & Bryants Building ( Victorian Beauty), the Mentis Building ( Art Nouveau ), the Jozi Mall ( Somali shops – designed as a result of xenophobia ), old Jewish shops & homes of Jeppestown, the oldest pharmacy in JHB (The Osborne Building), the Anglican Church – Joburgs oldest (still functioning) church, the restaurant used in the movie “ Long Walk to Freedom” and traditional herbalist shops of Zulu Inyangas.

We have joined hands with Ishvara from Ancient Secrets and are now offering tours through Jozi’s inner City – combining culture and photography. Ishvara has deep knowledge of the variety of African cultures and traditions and knows the streets of Jozi intimately. His tours normally take 80 people – but we are limiting our numbers to 20 so we can provide Photographic Instruction simultaneously.

Two experienced models are included in this workshop.
