Magoebaskloof (22 – 25 September 2017)

A Light-stalking, beauty catching, adventure-seeking Educational Photo-Tour over the Spring Festival Weekend in Magoeskloof!

On this Educational Photo-tour you will explore the entire area surrounding Magoebaskloof and all that it has to offer. We will visit stalls in village green, the orchid show at the Spring Festival, Azaleas in full bloom, Cheerio Gardens, waterfalls, manicured gardens, a cemetery, pine and indigenous and pine forests, tree-lined gravel roads and many birds!

 

There are a minimum of four and maximum of twelve people per photographer on this tour so early booking is essential to avoid disappointment. (We have reached the minimum number so this Photo-Tour is defiantly going ahead.)

 

Itinerary:

A detailed itinerary will be emailed through to all confirmed bookings.

Photographic Highlights include:

  • Capturing the light in the tall gum trees
  • Reflections over lakes and dams
  • Landscapes along the back roads and into the valleys
  • Low-Light in the evenings in a graveyeard
  • Shutter Speed at waterfalls
  • Architecture
  • Portraiture in the farmlands
  • Macro on the flowers, insects and early morning dew
  • The importance of good composition
  • How to handle light and natural elements such as dust
  • Movie night and feedback on images
  • A Basic Lightroom Course

Price:

The price is per person is just under R1250.00 per person per day – R4950.00 for the photographic instruction. 

Non-Photographers are welcome at the same price as photographers.

A 10% discount is offered to our existing clients, our 52-Week Challengers and Registered Camera Club Members (PSSA).

A deposit of R2500.00 is required to secure you place and the balance is payable 2 weeks before departure. (8 September 2017).

Meeting Point:

Meet in the foyer at The Magoebaskloof Hotel at 15h00 on 22 September 2017.  (If you are carpooling from JHB we will meet at 09h00 allowing time for travel, stops and check in).

Ending Point:

We will depart from Magoebaskloof at 12h30 on 25 September 2017.

Includes:

Accredited South African Professional Photographers who will be on hand through out the weekend to assist you – no matter what skill level you are.

Excludes:

Camera gear and accessories, transport, (there are cars going from JHB and possibly Natal – so carpooling a possible option) accommodation, meals and entrance fees.

What to Bring:

In order to achieve the most from the Accredited South African Professional Photographer, a camera body with a manual mode function is recommended. However, all makes of cameras are welcome. A tripod is essential (in the event that you do not own a tripod you are welcome to hire from thephotowalkers.com at a cost of R200.00 for the duration of the tour). Pre-booking is essential. Head torches for the evenings.

What to Wear:

Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended. Wind breakers come in handy for photographing at dusk and dawn and pockets are useful. thephotowalkers.com will communicate with you closer to the date of departure should there any be any inclement weather expected that would encourage additional items of clothing that are not typical.

Non-photographers:

Persons over the age of 12 are welcome to join as non-photographers at the same rate as photographers.

Fitness:

A certain level of fitness is required to enable you to transport your own camera bag, tripod and accessories. Reasonably short to medium distances are covered while photowalking. If during ‘free time’ you would like to partake in other adventures, additional fitness may be required.

Photographic Skills:

None! Photographers of all skills level are welcome. Come Join Us!

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations within 1 week of the tour: No refund will be issued on full booking amount. Cancellations more than 1 week before the event: 50% refund will be issued on any monies paid to date. In the event that thephotowalkers.com has to cancel the tour for any reason what-so-ever, a full refund will be issued immediately.
